Alternatively, there are now online courses available that can teach you adequately and some like to acquire books or CD’s / DVD’s on learning piano and work through those.
Should you want to progress to a better pianist and be a performer, it would be advisable to eventually hire a tutor to deal with flaws in your technique you may not notice. Because there are now so many options to learn the piano, your dream to play the piano is very achievable.

Dedication and effort is important to your success. Remember the “boring” practice discussed previously leads to the fun you can have entertaining both yourself and others. This unique and difficult technique, if you can master it, will make playing the piano more natural for you. Developing this technique will help you to able to play a song “by ear”. You can get an electronic keyboard to begin to learn if you prefer because they don’t take up as much room, but there is nothing like the real thing. Electronic keyboards have touch sensitivity, yet even with today’s technology, the resonance and tone is not as good as a traditional piano. A good piano is an expensive musical instrument, but worth the effort if you want to play better. After you have your piano or keyboard, you can then choose the best method to learn.
